Expansion of Veggies progress

The progress is amazing as we added in a brick path and an artificial grass path. The grass area is over a 2 layer system of gravel and sand. The sand allows for a place to kneel gently while weeding! This a life saver and relief from carrying around a pad with you.
Additions to note, are the posts surrounding the raised beds. This is a must due to the deer population in our area. Followed progressively with fencing. We have had ground hogs and rabbits to shy away.
The cattle fence was bent over the brick path. We are fortunate that the one cross member of the raised bed intersects the bottom. We put notches in the cross member to expand or condense the fencing as an arch. The other side sets nicely on the interior of a raised bed, held by force against the lower portion.
At the top is 2022 progress with vegetables and lower portion move toward flowers.
Also, the PVC piping bent over some of the raised beds to create mini-greenhouses with plastic. This is done in late winter and early spring to warm the soil and get an early start on some crops.
We have added a door on one side and a ramp on the opposite to a platform plank to transition to the greenhouse. The ramp is ideal for wheelbarrows full of dirt and materials. Adding non-skid to the ramp was necessary to prevent slipping in damp conditions. These little details end up being important for your safety.
Building for your plants is awesome! Have fun with it.
